Information
The Tri District Fire Rescue Junior Firefighters Program is a program which is offered to youth who are members of the community and are between the ages of 14 and 17.
This program allows youth to learn new skills, achieve goals that are put in place as well as meet new people. It also allows youth to experience and learn what your community volunteer fire department is about, gain knowledge about fire and fire behavior, train in controlled environments where fire may be present, medical first responders as well as motor vehicle collisions. Training sessions will be supervised with a trained firefighter(s) at all times.
The program will help train the future firefighters that will help serve our community as well as the surrounding area. Many youth who start off as a Junior Firefighter also plan on attending the Pre-Employment course that is offered at the Nova Scotia Firefighters School in Waverly.
