Lapland & District Fire Station 
 
In 1960 the Lapland School was purchased for $1.00 and became the hall for the Fire Department as well as the Community Hall. Later in 1960 a building was erected to house the fire pump and equipment. 
 
The first truck used were fuel trucks with the tank converted to carry water with the addition of a pump. Wooden cabinets and lockers were added to the sides for the trucks to hold gear. 
 
Later improvement saw the completion of a new garage in 2004 with the whole of the community lending a hand.
