Equipment Loan Program - Recreation Therapy 
 
The IWK Pediatric Rehabilitation Recreation Therapy Adapted Equipment Loan Program was established through the ongoing support of the IWK Auxiliary to give families of children and youth with a disability living in Nova Scotia the opportunity to borrow a variety of resources. This guide outlines the process for borrowing adapted equipment. Please contact Recreation Therapy at (902) 470-3840 if you are interested in our service. 
 
Guidelines:  
 
IWK Rec Therapy operates a referral-based service. Please contact service for a referral form. Equipment will be only be loaned after assessment by an IWK Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). 
 
Equipment will be loaned according to the needs of children, youth, and families and at the discretion of IWK Recreation Therapy staff. 
 
It is the responsibility of the family to arrange drop-off and pick-up. If traveling to pick up the item is not feasible please discuss with a Recreation Therapist to make alternative arrangements.  
 
The equipment will be inspected for damage when equipment is loaned and when it is returned. Please clean equipment prior to return to the IWK.
