The dedicated staff of our Recreation & Parks Department make it their purpose to impress on the public the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle. This is evident in all of our community-oriented events and publications. 
 
We also provide a number of helpful services to community groups within the Municipality of the District of Chester. 
 
- We provide photocopies, including colour, at a subsidized rate. 
- We lend equipment, such as data projector, screens, laptop, etc. 
- Perhaps your group is eligible for funding through our grants program. Download an application or call (902) 275-3490. 
- Our Games Team can provide kids' fun and excitement at your event during the summer months (limited bookings so first come, first served).

The Green Gym 
 
Take your workout outside with the new green gym in Chester Basin. Outdoor gym equipment has been installed adjacent to the Chester Connection Trail, just off Croft Road and opposite the playground. Workout in a relaxed, open atmosphere on safe equipment designed for strength training and cardiovascular fitness. See the equipment in action
