Description & Services
Information
During stressful times, people turn to recreation, parks, sport, and cultural pursuits as a means of helping them to cope. However, COVID protocols have disrupted the traditional mechanism in which recreation is delivered, and how citizens can experience and engage in leisure. Despite these challenges, the recreation sector can still engage citizens in leisure and build connection across their communities.
In this webinar recorded April 30, 2020, Rachel Bedingfield (Rec. Director Town of Kentville) and Jackie Oncescu (Assistant Professor, Recreation & Sport Studies Program, UNB) shared their experiences working collaboratively to reimagine and redesign recreation provisions in the Town of Kentville during a pandemic, with important considerations for the future of recreation.
