Inclusion Policy for South Shore Connect

South Shore Connect collects, maintains and disseminates information about services available to residents of Lunenburg, Queens, Shelburne and Yarmouth Counties (South Shore Region). Included are services that provide basic information on recreation, sport, and physical activity (active living).

Inclusion in the database of active living opportunities listed on the Website is free and is not dependent upon the purchase of a membership, products or separate advertising space from South Shore Connect.

The database includes organizations or programs primarily located in or serving the South Shore Region that:

  • Provide active living opportunities to the public.
  • Are networks or coalitions of active living providers.
  • Are not-for-profit, community-based or government organizations that provide active living opportunities.
  • Are commercial organizations that provide active living opportunities for the public.

Exclusion

Although South Shore Connect does not routinely monitor the quality of the services listed, they will respond to issues/concerns raised and reserves the right to refuse to list or to discontinue listings for organizations that:

  • Offer or provide services which are unlawful.
  • Misrepresent, by omission or commission, pertinent facts regarding their services, organizational structure, or any other pertinent matter, in any way.
  • Fail to respond to requests to update information.
  • Discontinue the provision of active living opportunities as part of their services.

Decisions to include, exclude, or remove a service listing may be appealed, in writing, to the Chair of the South Shore Connect Management Group.
