Description & Services

Information
The Atlantic Therapeutic Touch Network is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the practice of Therapeutic Touch™, a non-invasive modality developed in the early 1970's by Dolores Krieger, PH.D., R.N. and Dora Kunz. This is a healing practice based on the conscious use of the hands. The trained practitioner balances and re-directs the universal energy that activates the human body's natural healing potential.

The Therapeutic Touch practitioner does not diagnose illness, nor offer medical advice, rather, treatment sessions are offered as an adjunct to medical treatments already in place.

Dolores Krieger, Ph.D., R.N. and Dora Kunz first taught Therapeutic Touch in 1972 to some of Dr. Krieger's graduate student nurses at New York University. Since that time, Therapeutic Touch has been introduced to many Canadian hospitals, is increasingly a common part of nursing instruction, has been the subject of research, and has met acceptance in many countries. It has become clear that any one can learn Therapeutic Touch and, world-wide, practitioners include a variety of professional clinicians and lay people.

Our Mission Statement: The Atlantic Therapeutic Touch Network is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the practice and acceptance of a modality known as Therapeutic Touch as developed by Dolores Krieger, PH.D., R.N. and Dora Kunz. ATTN does this by providing professional standards for education and practice.

Our Vision Statement: The Vision of the Atlantic Therapeutic Touch Network is to have Therapeutic Touch embraced as a common occurrence in everyday life. For more information on Atlantic Therapeutic Touch Network go to:www.atlanticttn.com
