Information
Active Transportation is replacing gas-generated modes of transportation with people-powered modes of transportation - or as our grandparents used to say, “under our
own steam.”
As gas prices continue to climb and global warming increases because of carbon fuel emissions, maybe it is time to look at the benefits of Active Transportation.
Those benefits can include:
· Saving you money;
· Reducing harmful emissions;
· Increasing your fitness level;
· Reducing traffic on our roads;
· Reducing the need for more parking; and most of all,
· It’s fun!
The most common ways to participate in Active Transportation include walking, biking,
or wheeling instead of using the car.
Ways to participate include walking or biking to work, visiting a friend, going to the corner store, shopping, going to church, going to school or walking to the rink, park or library.
