Information
Our ministries focus on meeting the needs of our community with the gifts that God has blessed us with. We have all been blessed with talents and passions that we can use to the betterment of our community. Perhaps you are a great organizer, a dishwasher, a public speaker, or a listener. Maybe you have a passion to eradicate poverty, to bake, to save the environment, to encourage our youth, to clean, or to bring people together. The point is no matter what you enjoy or what you are good at – all these things can be used for God’s glory and to make the world we live in better for us and those around us. Every single gift is important and valuable!
Outreach
A collection of ministries that work in across our parish to help out people in our community. Grampy’s Store (found in our church hall) offers a place for the free distribution of things like clothes and furniture each Wednesday morning. The Outreach Committee seeks out and answers requests to help out people and families in the county with groceries or bill assistance. And the Primates World Relief and Development Fund helps out people and other organizations on a grand scale all over the world. These ministries along with all of our other ministries listed here work tirelessly to provide for the needs of our neighbors.
Anglican Church Women
The ACW’s mission is “to give women of the Anglican Church the opportunity to unite in a fellowship of worship, study and service which will lead them into Christian service in the parish, community, diocese, nation and world.” Wow, do they ever live up to that around here! The ACW is actively involved in supporting the many of the ministriesof our parish as well as helping with local and national initiatives. For more information see: www.acwcanada.com
Mothers’ Union
The Mothers’ Union is a worldwide Christian organization with more than 4 million members in 81 countries. Our vision is of a world where God’s love is shown through loving, respectful and flourishing relationships. We believe in the value of each individual and their unique qualities. We believe in the value of relationships. We believe in the value of the family, in its many forms, as a source of love and support for individuals and the basis for a caring community. For more information see: www.mothersunioncanada.ca or www.themothersunion.org.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a dedicated group of people who prepare the church for our services and clean up afterwards. Their ministry is incredibly important to the operation of our church and they would love to train you to help out in this capacity.
Bible Fellowship
Living a Christian life of faith is about so much more then attending church. Along with such things as love and charity the Christian life must be fed by the Word of God, support, and meaningful prayer as can only be found when we gather to read, question, and discuss God’s Holy Scripture. This is Bible Fellowship.
Christ Church Choir; The Gospel Friends
Choir practices at 3 PM each Wednesday
Gospel Friends celebrate at Roseway Manor on the last Wednesday of each month.
Thursday Morning Group
Each Thursday morning this group meets to support one another and take on local community initiatives and issions. In the Christmas season the make chocolates. During the spring and summer they make environmentally safe and healthy household cleaners. Proceeds go towards their work.
Youth Group
Each week dozens of kids get together at the church hall (29 Ann Street) for fun, games, crafts, activities, snacks, Bible stories and discussion, and general chaos. Geared towards kids aged 5 and up. We also encourage and work to equip our older youth to participate as leaders and take on greater responsibilities.
Messy Church
This is NOT church for kids; it’s church for the kid in YOU!
A monthly gathering where we play together, eat together, and sincerely worship together.
It is a new way of experiencing church.
Come for the meal; stay and be fed!
