Description & Services
Information
North Queens Nursing Home is a licensed Home for Special Care. We offer a comfortable, caring option for families who wish to do as much as they can, as well as they can, for as long as they can.
Our loved ones deserve the services that will enrich their lives, provide opportunities for socializing, promote participation in activities and healthy hobbies, offer excellent nutrition and personal care, and of course provide the necessary nursing and medical attention so often required by the elderly at all hours of the day.
Our policies are designed so that you can rest well knowing that you’ve provided your loved one a safe residence where all patients are monitored and attended to carefully.
In addition to a dedicated professional staff, our generous and thoughtful volunteers assist with numerous programs to enhance daily life for our residents.
Recreation Programs
Our home employs qualified recreation staff to plan and organize many special events and activities for the Residents. These programs are therapeutically designed to meet social, intellectual, physical, spiritual and emotional needs. The programs provide stimulating activities and one-on-one interaction, benefiting mental and physical well-being.
Residents are encouraged to participate in whatever programs appeal to them, no matter what their level of ability. Family members are welcome to join their loved ones during programs. Residents are made aware of upcoming events or notices, a newsletter and monthly calendar are distributed to each Resident at the beginning of each month.
Volunteering
Our volunteers lead and assist with our programs and activities. Volunteers may be needed for such things as crafts, the men’s club, baking, friendly visitors, cards, the coffee club, van transportation, feeding, newspaper review, table ball, music, and the list goes on. Some volunteers do gardening or help care for the plants — it depends on what the volunteer feels comfortable doing.
