The Yarmouth Art Society was founded in the early 1950’s. with the stated mission to:  
 
1) bring together visual artists (both amateur and professional) and persons interested in the visual arts to exchange information and ideas;  
 
2) promote art in the community by regular exhibitions, workshops, programs, and special events open to the public; and  
 
3) encourage children’s art by any appropriate means.
