Friday Group Rides

On Friday evenings in June, we will start at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre and bike on the trail to a different destination! These Friday group rides are designed for beginners to cycling. It will be an easy, comfortable pace, and we’ll have lots of fun together! For all the rides, meet at LCLC at 6:30pm; ride will last until approx. 8:00pm. You must have a working bike and a helmet. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost: FREE but donations to PRO Kids welcome! Call 541-1343 to register or visit

Saturday Women’s Rides

On Saturday mornings in June, MODL and Sweet Ride Cycling are joining forces to offer an awesome trail ride experience – for women only! Meet us in the Public Parking Lot on Clairmont Street, Mahone Bay (behind Pharmasave) for a fun ride at a comfortable pace, and enjoy the peacefulness of a morning trail. Into to Biking Workshop for Women

Was your last bike ride on your tricycle as a kid? Want to learn more about biking before you get on the road or trail? In a fun and safe environment, CAN-Bike Instructor Nancy Hepinstall will lead you through everything you need to know to get started. The workshop is for women only. Group Road Ride

Are you new to road cycling and want to try it in the safety of a group? Sweet Ride Cycling has a weekly Wednesday group and are opening the June 10 ride for new road cyclists! Meet at their shop (523 Main Street, Mahone Bay) at 6:00pm with a road-specific bike and helmet. Cost: FREE! Call 531-3026 or e-mail

Fundraiser Bike Ride for the Canadian Red Cross

Want to ride your bike and help your community? Support the Canadian Red Cross on this 30km bike ride, which starts and ends at the Pinehurst Community Hall (3485 Highway 10). Refreshments and sandwiches to follow. There is a suggested entry fee of $20. The route is on paved highway, former rail trail, and unpaved road. Road bikes or skinny tires not recommended. 2nd Annual Lunenburg County Mountain Bike Day

Come celebrate all things mountain biking at the MARC with the Lunenburg County Mountain Bike Association and TrailFlow Adventures! There’s a maintenance workshop, kids clinic, beginner clinic, portable skills park, and a group ride – something for everyone!

9:00-10:00 – maintenance 101Lunenburg County Mountain Bike Association Logo

10:00-11:30 – kids clinic (8-12 years old)

12:00-1:00 – BBQ / use portable skills park

1:00-3:00 – beginner clinic (13+)

3:00-4:00 – group ride / tour of trails

Don’t have a bike? Sweet Ride Cycling in Mahone Bay is offering half price rentals during Bike Week. Between June 5 and 14, 2015 visit Sweet Ride Cycling and get a half-day rental (3 hours) for only $10! They need one day in advance to make sure they have your size.
